Introduction to Yoga: Focus

Would you like to learn more about yoga and meditation and how they can become a part of your life? This workshop is designed for people interested in trying yoga and meditation for the first time AND for those who have been practicing and want to apply the philosophies more deeply.

Each workshop has a different topic. This one will focus on how the choice to begin a yoga practice represents a new beginning. It is a commitment and re-commitment to your own life and self in a different way. Regardless of a persons age or abilities, yoga allows us to make the most of it. Physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual healing become possible through a practice of focus that relates to the deepened commitment to life.

In this workshop, participants will be introduced to poses, breath, meditation, and the core philosophies behind yoga. The focus will be on focus and what consistency of practice can do. We will consider the role of discernment and also the role of suspension of doubt. Participants will also be guided to consider in what ways they would like to commit and re-commit to their lives.
